RemoteDesk Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

RemoteDesk lets you control a Mac from iPhone, iPad, or another Mac. It works without an account and keeps remote sessions direct between devices.

Information We Collect

Screen Recording Data

RemoteDesk uses Apple’s ScreenCaptureKit only after you start the Host feature and grant Screen Recording permission. It captures the pixels and pointer visible on the display you select. Screen audio, microphone audio, and camera data are not captured.

The captured display is used only to provide a live remote-screen stream to devices that you explicitly connect and authorize. Because the entire selected display is captured, the stream may include applications, documents, notifications, and other content visible on that display.

Sharing and Disclosure

Screen recording data is transmitted directly over an encrypted connection to the device or devices you explicitly connect. We do not receive, route, sell, or share screen recording data through our servers, analytics service, or third-party SDKs. A connected device is able to view the selected display as part of the remote session.

Data Stored on Your Device

Saved host names, addresses, ports, pairing codes, certificate pins, preferences, and recent remote-screen thumbnails are stored locally. They are not uploaded to us. You can remove saved connections in the app and remove remaining local data by uninstalling the app.

Permissions

How We Use and Share Data

Install and purchase events are used to understand adoption and paid-plan activation. We do not sell personal information, use advertising SDKs, track you across other companies’ apps or websites, or share data with data brokers. The app also contacts Apple for StoreKit purchases and our service to load a list of other apps by this developer.

Storage, Retention, and Security

On the Host, raw and encoded screen frames are processed temporarily in memory. Up to four recent encoded frames per connected device may be held in memory for network packet retransmission. These frames are replaced as new frames arrive and are discarded when the stream or connection ends.

On the controlling device, RemoteDesk may store one recent remote-screen thumbnail for each saved connection in the app’s local cache. The thumbnail is used only for the saved-connections interface and is never uploaded to us. It is overwritten by a newer thumbnail and is removed when the app is uninstalled or the operating system clears the cache.

Event records are kept only as reasonably needed for aggregate product analytics. Support messages are kept as needed to respond and resolve issues. Remote connections use encrypted transport and certificate pinning, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

RemoteDesk is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You may deny or revoke system permissions at any time, although related features will stop working. To ask about or request deletion of support or event data, email us. We may need the install identifier and related details to locate an event record.

Changes and Contact

We may update this policy and will revise the date above. Questions or requests: hswillg@gmail.com.
