Common Issues

Check-in Not Working

Ensure Location permission is enabled: iOS Settings → Footprint → Location → "While Using" or "Always".
Make sure you have a network connection for place name lookup (offline check-ins save coordinates and sync names later).
Restart the app if check-in is unresponsive.

Photos Not Attaching

Go to iOS Settings → Footprint → Photos → set to "All Photos" or "Selected Photos".
Check available device storage — photos require free space to save.
Restart the app and try again.

Map Not Showing My Visits

Pull down to refresh the map view.
Check that your filter (This Week / This Month / All Time) is set to "All Time" to see all footprints.
If visits are missing after reinstalling, restore from a backup or cloud sync (Footprint Pro).

Apple Health Steps Not Appearing

Go to iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Footprint → enable "Steps".
Alternatively, open the Health app → Browse → Activity → Steps → tap "Share Data" and allow Footprint.
Step data for a given day may take a few minutes to sync after check-in.

Cloud Sync Issues (Footprint Pro)

Ensure you are signed into the same Apple ID on all devices.
Check your internet connection and try pulling to refresh in the timeline.
Log out and log back into your Footprint Pro account under Settings → Account.
If data appears missing, do not overwrite — contact us first at hswillg@gmail.com.

Subscription / Footprint Pro

To manage or cancel your subscription: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Footprint Pro.
If you were charged but Pro features are not active, restore purchases: App Settings → Restore Purchases.
For billing disputes, please contact Apple Support, as all purchases are processed through the App Store.

App Crashes or Freezes

Close and reopen the app.
Update to the latest version in the App Store.
Restart your device.
If crashes persist, email us with your device model and iOS version so we can investigate.
