RemoteTimer Privacy Policy

RemoteTimer lets you run timers on your iPhone or iPad and control them from a paired Apple Watch or a nearby device. We designed RemoteTimer to work without an account and to keep your data on your device.

Data We Collect

RemoteTimer minimizes data collection. The timers, tags, activity records, and settings you create are stored entirely on your device.

On-Device Data: Timers you create (names, tags, activity sessions, and their running/waiting durations) and your app settings are saved locally using iOS/iPadOS storage. This data is not transmitted to us.
Local Network / Nearby Devices: To control a timer on another device, RemoteTimer uses Multipeer Connectivity over your local network and, for Apple Watch, WatchConnectivity. Only the control command (Start, Resume, End) and the minimal timer information needed to display it are exchanged directly between your own devices. This traffic does not pass through our servers.
Diagnostics (optional): If you choose to contact support, you may share diagnostic details in your email. We only use this to respond to your request.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not create user accounts.
We do not collect names, emails (unless you contact support), or phone numbers.
We do not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites.
We do not use any third-party service for advertising or ad targeting.

Permissions

Local Network: Required only to discover and connect to your own nearby devices so remote commands can be delivered peer-to-peer. No internet connection or server is used for this.
Bluetooth (local discovery): Used by Multipeer Connectivity, together with Wi-Fi, to find and link nearby devices for remote control.
Notifications (optional): If enabled, used to deliver local alerts about timer activity. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

Remote Control & Picture-in-Picture

Remote commands travel directly between your devices over the local network or WatchConnectivity — they are not routed through any RemoteTimer server. Picture-in-Picture runs entirely on your device to keep a timer visible while you use other apps.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data and we do not share your timers with anyone. RemoteTimer does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your timers and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall RemoteTimer. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.
