PastDue Privacy Policy

PastDue helps you track bills, subscriptions, debts, and food expiry dates. We designed PastDue to work without an account and to keep your data on your device.

Data We Collect

PastDue minimizes data collection. The app stores the tasks and settings you create entirely on your device.

On-Device Data: Tasks you create (titles, amounts, due dates, categories, notes), reminder preferences, and currency settings are saved locally on your device using iOS storage. This data is not transmitted to us.
Photos & Camera (optional): If you use Smart Extract to scan a bill or receipt, the captured image is processed on your device. The image and the extracted text are not uploaded to our servers.
Diagnostics (optional): If you choose to contact support, you may share diagnostic details in your email. We only use this to respond to your request.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not create user accounts.
We do not collect names, emails (unless you contact support), or phone numbers.
We do not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites.
We do not use any third-party service for advertising or ad targeting.

Permissions

Notifications: Optional. Used to deliver local reminders for upcoming due dates at the time you choose. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
Camera: Optional. Used only when you tap "Scan Photo" in the Smart Extract panel to capture a bill or receipt for on-device processing.
Photo Library: Optional. Used only when you choose to upload an image from your library for Smart Extract.

Smart Extract (On-Device Intelligence)

On supported devices, PastDue uses Apple's on-device intelligence (Apple Intelligence and the Vision framework) to read text from a photo or pasted text and pre-fill a new task for you. This processing happens on your device. The image, the text, and the extracted fields are not sent to our servers.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data and we do not share your tasks with anyone. PastDue does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your tasks and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall PastDue. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.

Children's Privacy

PastDue is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes, we will update this page with a new "Last updated" date.
