Miner Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-28

Miner: Photo & Media Player is the Apple TV and iOS companion for Miner, the self-hosted media server that runs on your own computer or NAS. It streams photos and videos directly from your server over your home network. We designed Miner so that your media and your activity stay under your control.

The Short Version

Data We Collect

Miner itself does not collect personal data. The information below is stored locally on your device and used only to reach your own server.

Your Media

Your photos and videos are stored on and streamed from your own Miner server. They are transmitted directly between your device and your server over your local network. Miner does not upload, copy, or relay your media to us or to any third party.

Data We Do Not Collect

Permissions

Miner does not request access to your device's Camera, Photo Library, Contacts, Microphone, or Location. All media comes from your Miner server.

Your Miner Server

The Miner server is software you run yourself. Any data you choose to store on it — your media, server accounts, and server logs — is governed by the server's own configuration and your network. We do not operate your server and have no access to it.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data and we do not share your information or media with anyone. Miner includes no third-party analytics or advertising components.

Data Retention & Deletion

Connection details and preferences remain on your device until you remove a server in the app, sign out, or uninstall Miner, which deletes all local app data. To remove the media itself, delete the files from your Miner server.

Children's Privacy

Miner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes, we will update this page with a new "Last updated" date.
