ExpenseAI Terms of Use

By downloading or using ExpenseAI, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

App Description

ExpenseAI helps you log expenses by speaking a sentence, typing one line, or photographing a receipt. AI reads the amount, merchant, category, and date, and you confirm before anything is saved. Entries are stored locally on your device, and statistics are organized around your pay cycle rather than the calendar month.

License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use ExpenseAI on devices you own or control, subject to these terms and Apple's App Store rules.

Acceptable Use

Do not misuse the app or attempt to disrupt its operation.
Do not reverse engineer or redistribute the app except where permitted by law.
Use the app in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Your Content

You are responsible for the expense records you keep in ExpenseAI. Because data is stored locally on your device, we recommend exporting a CSV from Settings for anything important, and keeping a device backup. Receipt photos are not included in CSV exports — use iCloud device backup if you need them preserved. There is no cloud copy to recover from if data is lost.

AI Assistance

AI-suggested entries are drafts: nothing is saved until you review and confirm it. Always glance at the amount before saving.
Speech recognition, receipt text recognition, and AI parsing can make mistakes — including wrong amounts, merchants, or dates. ExpenseAI is a record-keeping tool, and you are responsible for the accuracy of what you save.
If you enable a cloud AI provider with your own API key, submitted text is sent to that provider. If you separately enable cloud receipt images, a compressed copy of each receipt you choose is also sent for visual parsing. Your use of the provider is governed by its terms, and any costs are billed to your own account. Switching the provider back to Apple Intelligence (the default) stops all cloud requests.

No Professional Advice

ExpenseAI is a personal expense logging tool. It does not provide financial, tax, investment, legal, or other professional advice, and its totals and statistics should not be relied upon for filing, auditing, or any decision with legal or financial consequences.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExpenseAI and its developers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the app, including but not limited to inaccurate records, lost data, overcharges to your cloud AI account, or decisions made based on app totals.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend access if you violate these terms or if required by law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect the latest version.
